About Us

Track Techniques is the brainchild of Jay Pringle

With over 30 years of experience teaching and coaching motorsports across Western Canada, Jay has been involved in developing, instructing, and running schools and lapping events since 1993. 

Experienced Instructor & Program Developer

Jay has extensive experience as chief instructor and team leader for many schools, organizations, and drive events across Canada. He has trained and mentored hundreds of instructors over the last 25 years, leaning on his additional skills as certified instructor and coach in four different sports.


As an advanced driving program developer spanning industries, Jay has offered his expert advice and insights into training safer and faster drivers (as required.) He has written driving manuals and classroom material for a variety of programs, always looking to enhance the knowledge and driving skills of his students.

Additional Skills & Experience

Jay runs and operates the various divisions of Track Techniques. He has worked for most major automotive manufacturers across Canada since 1995, notably as product specialist for General Motors with expert knowledge across their product line since 2002.

Teaching and coaching style

  1. Keep in-car instruction as simple as possible. 
  2. Identify how students learn and use the style or styles that work best
  3. Keep the day fun and interesting in a non-competitive environment
